During this time of social distancing and self isolation, we have been busy working away (at home) to test out as many brand new HOYFC cross stitch patterns as possible. You can check out the finished patterns over on our Etsy shop, with more set to be released over the next few weeks.
We have found the whole process of stitching up the designs so relaxing that we've been on the lookout for other cute cross stitch patterns. Here are some of our favourites:
We are massive fans of Joss Whedon's space western, Firefly and, 17 years later, we're still bitter about it being cancelled. This little hoop, featuring motifs including Jayne's hat and leaves floating in the wind (R.I.P Wash), is not *technically* cross stitch, but it was too adorable not to show you. Made up entirely of back stitch and using only one colour, this is a quick and easy make that you can work on while you binge watch the series... again!
Pssst, for more Firefly goodness, check out our latest shiny pattern release!
Yes, you've got your own place, you feed yourself, do your own washing, maybe even look after your own little person, but you'd also still like your mum to phone the doctor for you and will binge on sweets just because you can. I think most of us can relate to this sweet little hoop.
Dunfermline based stitcher, Son of a Cross Stitch had loads of patterns that I wanted to show you, but this one really made me chuckle. If you want sarcasm and Scottish banter, definitely check out this shop.
Feminism and dinosaurs, what's not to love? This quote from 1993 classic, Jurassic Park, is beautifully illustrated with all your favourite dinos. This would make a good project for someone looking for more of a challenge.
If you follow HOYFC staff member MJ on Instagram, you will see that she has already completed Happy Little Mouse's Godzilla pattern and it looks amazing! This Stranger Things inspired pattern is so beautifully detailed - I mean, just look at the lights on the bikes. There's a lot of stitching in this pattern, but it is definitely worth it.
Finally, we come to this cheeky take on traditional cross stitch styling from Peppermint Purple. To be honest, given the current situation, maybe swearing will help!
So there you have it, six gorgeous cross stitch patterns by six talented designers, and all available for instant pdf download.
Which one will you be stitching? After finishing your HOYFC patterns, of course.
